The first of a new collection of circular flower-based artworks. This is titled 'summer bloom', a collection of colourful British summer flowers - all collected from my own garden or nearby. I had the idea as this developed that the flowers might somehow represent the human body, with the heart (or rose) in the centre. The blooms are the reproductive living organs of plants.
The original painting used a fairly solid acrylic paint background, with oil paint flower layers on top.
